Above the 2 replacement steel wheels kindly swapped with Martin Edridge of the Mustang Owners Club and the process of cleaning them up.
The interior trim and rear seats were removed.....
Then came the process of stipping down, rust-proofing and painting the interior panels.
The hood came off, the engine bay braces were stripped and repainted and the engine oil drained!
Leaving the car and engine looking like this!
And then came the day to lift the engine out and into the back of the van, in order to take it to be rebuilt!
Which left rather an empty engine bay that I started to strip down prior to re-spraying.
The seats came out in order to detach the air vent system and reveal the wiring knightmare!
Even the old headers didn't escape being rubbed down and resprayed with VHT paint!
After fillering the radiator support panel I started to prepare the engine bay using red-oxide primer to prevent surface-rust in sections bare-metalled.
The hood was prepared in the same way.
I stripped the heater box and after finding the heater core to look almost brand-new, cleaned it up and repainted it.
I did a little work to loosen up the stiff passenger side window regulator and then cleaned it up and painted it.
